We operate from the idea that paradigms—demographics, mostly—have shifted as far as how and where people want to live, but policy—zoning, mostly—has yet to catch up. This mismatch is frustrating and the struggles to overcome it can at times be maddening. The work, however, is necessary. 

We help make missing middle helping not only because it shelters more people, enriches the fabric of neighborhoods, and improves affordability, but because an ADU, duplexes, and other forms of gentle density can, when well-designed, provoke wonder and intrigue.
